Join the Saskatoon Chapter in viewing Dr. Micheli Bevilacqua's presentation, What's New in PKD Research, from the 2017 Canadian PKD Symposium!

Dr. Bevilacqua covers the following topics:

  • Understanding autosomal dominant PKD;
  • Current and pending advancements in diagnostic and prognostic testing;
  • Update on treatment option in Canada.
The presentation is one and a half hours long and we will plan a brief intermission midway.

About the Speaker: Dr. Micheli (Mike) Bevilacqua is a nephrologist with the Fraser Health Authority, BC Renal Agency and Clinical Assistant Professor, Division of Nephrology at UBC. He trained as a specialist physician in internal medicine and nephrology. He also has additional training in health administration and now divides his time between clinical medicine and nephrology administration. His clinical nephrology practice is based in Fraser Health and the rest of his time is spent with the BC Provincial Renal Agency which oversees the care delivery for all patients with kidney disease in the province. He is the Medical Lead for polycystic kidney disease with the Renal Agency where he directs provincial level initiatives to optimize treatment of PKD in BC, as well as other initiatives such as improving the delivery and support of home dialysis therapies. When not doing clinical work or at the Renal Agency, Mike is involved in research with specific interests in knowledge translation and evaluating care delivery and is also actively involved in the teaching of undergraduate students at UBC medical school.
