The Walk for PKD signifies a united group, moving towards treatment and a cure for polycystic kidney disease (PKD), one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases affecting thousands in Canada. You can have an impact on all those affected by this disease by joining a walk in your community, or by creating an online walk page where you can join others in the fight to end PKD through interactive message boards and photos.
Thank you for your continued support for the Walk for PKD! Because of you, we surpassed the $1 million mark this year. Check back in 2017 to register for next year’s Walk for PKD!
The Walk for PKD is the PKD Foundation of Canada’s signature fundraising event, and has raised over $1 million since 2007. Each year, the walk helps the PKD Foundation of Canada move closer to its goal of finding more treatments and a cure for those living with PKD. The funds raised also help provide education, support and services both online and offline in local communities for those affected by PKD.
We’ve made great strides but need your help in keeping the momentum going. By recruiting more participants and volunteers and engaging the community to walk with us, we can help bring our goal to life: that everyone affected by PKD can find support and care within their communities and ultimately, find a cure for PKD.
Register today and help us end PKD!
If you are unable to walk this year, there is still much you can do! Volunteer to help raise funds for the Walk for PKD by setting up a donor page, or help promote awareness and education in your community. Learn more about how to spread the word here.
