Introducing Peaks for PKD | Peaks for PKD
When Eric Hampel approached the PKD Foundation of Canada about his Kilimanjaro climb (planned for October 2024) to raise awareness and funds for PKD research, we were absolutely thrilled by his passion and determination, and it sparked a brilliant idea.
What if more of us took on such inspiring challenges?
Many in our community love the great outdoors, embracing the mountains and trails with open hearts and sturdy boots. So, why not join forces and take on physical challenges to help combat PKD?
Inspired by Eric’s lofty ambitions, we are excited to introduce Peaks for PKD - a new fundraising endeavor that invites you to ascend to new heights for a great cause.
Whether you're an avid hiker, a novice trekker, or simply someone who wants to make a difference, there's a place for you on this journey.

How to get involved
Set Your Own Peak: Choose a hiking or climbing challenge that suits your level and interest. It could be a local hill, a renowned mountain, or even just a level trail - the sky's the limit!
Raise Funds and Awareness: Use your challenge as a platform to raise funds and increase awareness about PKD. Every step you take is a step towards hope!
Join a Community of Hopefuls: You’re not alone on this journey. Connect with fellow participants, share stories, and inspire each other along the way.
Let’s turn Eric’s ascent into a beacon of hope for those battling PKD. Together, we can show them that they are not alone in their fight. Each peak we conquer, every trail we tread, we do it not just for our health, but for a shared purpose.
