Join the Community!

Welcome to our vibrant community dedicated to ending polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and supporting those affected by it.

At the PKD Foundation of Canada, we believe in the power of unity and advocacy to make a difference in the lives of individuals living with PKD. Joining our community opens up a world of opportunities to get involved and make a meaningful impact. Here's how you can become a part of our mission:

Find Fellow PKD Warriors

We offer a number of ways to connect with others in the PKD community, whether through informal social hours and meet-and-greets, guided PKD Mind Matters chats about issues that affect people in our community, or peer support groups run in partnership with the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Volunteer at Events

Participate in our various events, such as the Walk to END PKD held in cities across Canada. Your support at these events helps raise crucial funds for research and creates a sense of solidarity among our community.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with our 2024 Walk to END PKD in these cities: Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Guelph, Calgary and Vancouver.

Interested in joining us as a Walk Planning Committee Member, Fundraising Committee Volunteer, or Day-of Event Crew Volunteer? START HERE!

Share Your Story

As a PKD patient, caregiver, or organ donor, your personal story is powerful. Become an advocate and share your journey through our Voices of PKD series to raise awareness and inspire others.

PKD Awareness Day

Join us in recognizing PKD Awareness Day, which is held on September 4 each year. Help spread awareness through activities such as soliciting municipal proclamations, organizing flag-raisings, landmark lightings, and sharing your story with your local media.

Peer Support Provider

Make a direct impact by becoming trained as a peer support provider for transplant patients and donors, or individuals affected by PKD. Your guidance and empathy can provide invaluable support to those navigating similar experiences.

Translation Services

Assist in bridging language barriers by translating our communications into French, ensuring that our resources reach a wider audience and make a difference in the Francophone community.

Whether you're looking to lend a helping hand, share your voice, or offer support, there's a place for you in our community. Together, we can make a difference, and work towards a future free from the challenges of PKD.

Join us today and be a part of something truly remarkable. Welcome to the PKD Foundation of Canada family!
