PKD Awareness Day
What is PKD?
Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a chronic, genetic disease causing uncontrolled growth of fluid-filled cysts in the kidneys, often leading to kidney failure. With 66,000 Canadians and millions worldwide living with PKD today, chances are high that you know someone with the disease. Why raise PKD awareness?
The more people know about PKD, the more support we can garner for those affected, and the more donations we can secure to fund patient supports, future treatments, and a cure. PKD Awareness Day is our opportunity to amplify these efforts. It provides a platform to spread the word widely, share stories, and encourage others to learn more. On PKD Awareness Day, let's unite as a strong community to raise awareness about this disease like never before!
Raise your voice online using #PKDAwarenessDay and #Sept4.
