Blair Hampel has experienced the impact of polycystic kidney disease (PKD) both personally and through his family. He was diagnosed with PKD as a teenager, and the disease has affected multiple generations of his family. It claimed the life of his maternal grandfather, Wray. His mother, Barb, and his aunt, Carolyn, both received kidney transplants due to PKD progression, and his oldest brother, Eric, is also living with the disease. Blair is excited to join the board of directors for the PKD Foundation of Canada, with the goal of helping to find a cure and end PKD in his lifetime.
