There are two types of organ donation; Living organ donation and deceased organ donation.

Deceased organ donation is the process of giving an organ or a part of an organ, at the time of the donor's death, for the purpose of transplantation to another person. A single organ donor has the potential to provide as many as eight organs for transplant!

Healthy adults may also be able to become living liver donors after extensive medical testing. A portion of the donor’s liver, or kidney is surgically removed and transplanted into a recipient in need.

Being informed is a vital step in the journey to becoming an organ donor. Find out if you are eligible, access educational program resources, learn more about how living kidney donation works, and understand how to find a living donor.
