Some of the medications people take every day – without a second thought – can affect kidney function more than you might expect.
Pain relievers. Cold and flu medications. Even certain prescriptions for unrelated conditions. If you’re living with PKD, these choices can matter more.
The challenge is that no one hands you a clear list of what’s safe, what’s risky, and what to double-check. Many people only find out after a problem shows up.
This session is here to change that.
In this practical, real-life focused webinar, pharmacist Chirine Nassim will walk you through how common medications can impact kidney health in PKD – and how to make safer, more informed choices day to day.
You’ll learn:
- Which common over-the-counter medications can put extra strain on your kidneys
- Why some “harmless” medications may not be recommended for people with PKD
- Which prescription medications may need caution or monitoring
- When safer alternatives may be available • How medications like blood pressure treatments play a role in protecting kidney function
- The simple questions that can help you avoid risk before starting something new
If you’ve ever stood in a pharmacy aisle unsure what’s safe – or wondered if something you’re taking could be affecting your kidneys – this session is for you.
It’s also one to share with a partner, family member, or caregiver. The people around you often help make medication decisions too, and having them understand what to watch for can make a real difference.
There will be time for live questions at the end of the session.
