This presentation focused on managing depression and anxiety while also living with a chronic health condition, such as polycystic kidney disease. Additional talking points included:

About the Speaker

Carla Williams (BSW, RSW) has worked as a Social Worker for 10 years: 6 years at Royal Inland Hospital, 5 of which were in the Kidney Care Clinic and Transplant Programs. As a part of her role in the Renal Program, Carla has had the opportunity to be an active member of the following committees: National Conservative Care Management Committee, BC Renal Palliative Care Committee, BC Pre-Emptive Transplant Committee & Polycystic Kidney Disease Committee. In addition, she has been trained as a facilitator for the Serious Illness Conversation; and at her local hospital, she has created and taken the lead for the Palliative Response Team during COVID-19 and is a member of the Ethics Committee.
