May 2024 issue | PKD e-News
Welcome to the May e-News! This month we have stories about a PKD patient's plan to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, an upcoming webinar on living organ donation, the top foods to eat for PKD, and more!
Voices of PKD
"My journey with PKD began when I was 18, with a diagnosis that rocked my world. Both my mom and aunt were already living with PKD, so it wasn't entirely unexpected, but it was still a tough pill to swallow.
"Getting the diagnosis shortly before embarking on my university career was really a change in perspective. I spent my university years pretending my PKD didn't exist, but as I got older, I realized I couldn't just ignore it.
"That's when I decided to get involved and make a difference."
Eric Hampel is attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this October, to raise awareness and funds for the PKD Foundation of Canada! Read the rest of his story, here.
