Montreal Fundraising

From our first PKD Fundraiser in 2014, to our current Walk to END PKD, we've had a rich history in Montreal of supporting PKD patients, raising awareness about the impact of PKD on those it affects, and raising funds to find better treatments and a cure to END PKD.

The Walk to END PKD

Since 2015, the Walk to END PKD in Montreal has been a signature annual event, drawing friends, families, community partners and volunteers together in a shared mission: to end polycystic kidney disease. Held at local parks, these events offer more than just a walk - they create a sense of solidarity through live music, food, games, and community spirit. Participants raise vital funds that support research and educational programs. With each step, the Walk raises awareness about PKD and reminds people living with the disease that they are not alone. The event continues to grow, offering visibility and hope to the local PKD community. (Find more Walk photos below.)

Music Heals

The annual Music Heals concerts (2016–2019) brought together local talent and community members for an inspiring evening of music, cultural celebration, and purpose. These events raised critical funds for Canadian PKD research while offering entertainment for the whole family. The concerts featured diverse musical genres, performances from Montreal's vibrant cultural communities, light refreshments, and raffle prizes. Beyond fundraising, Music Heals helped increase public awareness of PKD in joyful and engaging ways. By blending artistic expression with advocacy, these concerts strengthened the emotional connection between attendees and the PKD cause, celebrating hope, resilience, and unity.

Texas Hold'Em Poker Fundraisers

Montreal’s Texas Hold’Em Poker Nights have brought together fun and philanthropy through high-energy, community-driven events. Hosted by St. Brendan’s Knights of Columbus, these third-party fundraisers support both the PKD Foundation of Canada and local food banks. Participants enjoy a night of social connection, friendly competition, and giving back. The events highlight the generosity of Montrealers and build bridges between local service organizations and the PKD cause. With proceeds going directly toward research and patient support, poker tournaments offer a creative and engaging way to raise awareness and funds in a non-traditional format.

"Dress-Down" Days

Students held a special Dress-Down Day to raise funds for PKD research. By donating in exchange for the chance to wear casual clothes to school, these young changemakers showed their support for families affected by polycystic kidney disease. Their efforts not only raised money, but also helped spread awareness about PKD within the school community. It was a simple but powerful act of kindness and solidarity.
